I am thinking of going on a asian food diet?

gotagetaweigh asked:

Mostly Chinese, Japanese and Korean food prepared at home with ingredients from my local Asian food mart. The reason I picked this is when I was living in Korea, almost everyone was thin due to the low meat, high veggie diet of the culture. Plus I like Asian food so I conclude it will be an easy diet to stick to. My question is since it is a diet based mostly on vegetables, is how can I incorporate protein and proper nutrition with little or no meat? My other question is what suggestions you have on how to save money while buying these foods and what items are healthy, yet can be stocked up and be kept the longest (has long shelf life?) Also, what are some good yet simple recipes to start off on for me to learn?

I am doing this to lose weight and was wondering while eating these foods, I can do so in the most healthy way possible.

Lots of rice and veggies- stay away from the jarred sauces which are often high in calories and fat, and the noodles.

Buy a rice steamer if you don’t have one, they also steam veggies and fish and are easy to use and clean up.

Sushi is a great option- and easy to make at home as long as you use very fresh sushi grade fish ( tuna or salmon) or imitation crab, which you can keep in the freezer. Avocados are hard to keep and high in fat, so use cucmber instead.
California Rolls:
Ingredients:

4 sheets dried seaweed (nori)
4 cups sushi rice (recipe below)
1 cucumber
1/2 lb. imitation crab sticks
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsps sesame seeds

How to Cook:

Peel the cucmber and cut it into strips
Cover a bamboo mat with plastic wrap.
Put a sheet of dried seaweed on top of the mat.
Spread sushi rice on top of the seaweed and press firmly.
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the sushi rice.
Turn the sushi layer over so that the seaweed is on top.
Place cucumber and crab lengthwise on the seaweed.
Roll the bamboo mat forward, pressing the ingredients inside the cylinder-shaped sushi.
Press firmly the bamboo mat with hands, then remove the rolled sushi.
Cut the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces

If I were you I would avoid an Asian diet. If yu notice most asians are short. Thats from lack of proteins. Their diet includes dogs and cats unlike the african cannibals who devour humans.

Asian diets also are filthy full of germs and you might end up with a weird disease. One friend of mine Muhammed Islam went on an Asian diet and after 6 months he became crosseyed, lost the use of his limbs and had to move about on a wheel chair and could not pronounce any words that had the letter “R” in them properly, e.g. he would say let me eat some lice when he meant he wanted to eat rice and so after eating a lot of lice the guy went crazy and the only comforting thing was he had a”Handicapped tag” so parking became much easier for him.

So my advice is dont go asian diet crazy.

When you eat chinese food, ensure that you cook soup, vege, main dish – the idea is to cook a balance healthy meal, so thats why the chinese are slim. The reason for this is due to the yin and yang in chinese food, to get an idea what type of food has yin and yang, you can visit here

not only less meat, but less fatty meat too. for the protein, use a lot of tofu. tofu is low in fat, low in calories, high in protein. the trick to tofu is that it doesn’t have much flavor of its own but it will take on the flavor of whatever sauce you cook it in. stir frying can be good as is steaming. don’t use too much oil though. and to help you lose weight faster, exercise! even a 20-minute walk everyday will do wonders for you.
