Does the Special K diet work for teens ?

Im 13 and ive gained a few pounds but Im having a lot of trouble losing even a pound. i do cheering for 2 hours 3-4 days a week. i was planning to do the special k diet but does it really work ?
please remember i am only 13 and i go to school 5 days a week. i also have big thighs and i need to lose the most fat there.
and i only want to lose 7 pounds i weigh 116

try the Zone diet it works or do Weight Watchers my step-mom lost 30 pounds on weight watchers and you really dont have to go to the classes all you have to do is get all the info.

ur only 13 hun u prolly gained those pounds thru puberty. u really dont need to diet just cut out soda and junk food and eat as healthily as u can.

I think the special K diet would be ok for teens. You should talk to your parents and your doctor before starting a diet though. Since you are athletic it is especially important to make sure you are getting a good balance of foods (proteins, complex carbs, fruits and veggies). This will help your energy and muscle development for cheering as well as your overall health.

The special K with red berries is SO good! That’s on the diet, too ;-)

Thank you for asking that because Im around your age and I weigh way more than you,(so personally I think you dont need to lose anyhting) but thanks for asking this so I could get answers for myself too. By the way, dont think you are fat, if thats what your thinking because im 12 and 159lbs, so dont thin kyou are big at all. because I AM!!
btw- the Special K should most definatly work for teens

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don’t over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don’t look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!
