According to an independent investigation in 2010 from a particular magazine, consuming 3 servings of chocolate Muscle Milk delivers on average 12.2 micrograms of arsenic, 5.6 microgram of cadmium, and 13.5 microgram of lead. The proposed US federal limit is 15 microgram of arsenic, 5 microgram of cadmium, and 10 microgram of lead per day.
Some other products from some other brands have similar issues; so you should do your research before deciding to daily drink excessive amounts. |

I had the same experience as another reviewer. Sometimes, the caps that are supposed to bite through the foil seal just pop off, either in shipping or when I get them home or try to open them (and yes, I push down the safety retaining ring first). Fact is the adhesive they've been using just doesn't hold very well to the container or the plastic screwtop.
Just as bad, if the lid does work, sometimes it'll leak between the seal where the adhesive should be, and it drips down my shirt. Not cool. If I can I pour it into a cup I do. could also blend with ice in a blender which is optimal, but then I could just use the powder and not this "to go" package, right? I'd prefer a simple peel-open or straw hole package like you can get with orange juice over this current design.
Regarding the shake, sometimes there's clumps but whatever, I'm drinking it for the nutrients not for the taste/texture. Taste is pretty good though, I've found Cytosport's shakes are some of the least "chemical" tasting around. Again, not a top priority.
Generally a good product but they need to address the issue with the lid adhesive/seal. I've seen other products (juice, wine) served in small cartons like this and it seems like the lid is attached to the inside of the carton, might add 2 cents to the packaging but it's worth it. With that improvement, I'd give this 5 stars.
Regarding meal replacement... this shake actually has a lot of calories. There are other shakes out there that would be better as a meal replacement for weight loss. As the name implies, this is geared towards bodybuilders and athletes looking for quickly absorbed proteins before and after their high intensity workouts, BEFORE their post workout meal. But, if you integrate it properly and in the right amount (probably not the full 16oz of this package) it could be an effective component of a weight loss regimen. |

I use these for weight loss. I leave them out, but when its time to drink one (every morning) I throw it in the blender with 5 or 6 ice cubes. stirs the contents up and makes it very cold/frothy. They're the best product I've found thus far as far as feeling full longest-- I'm not hungry until 2pm or so (I drink them around 8am). I run as often as I can, usually only about 2-3 times per week because I'm so dang busy now, but I still feeling like I'm losing a little bit of weight at a time. Great taste, just have to make sure they're very cold when you drink them-- hence why I blend them with some ice. yummy yummy! Good product, 4 stars because they make you feel wicked sick if you drink them at warm temps... not very good for "on the go"

| Ordered 6 cases and all were fine. No difference in taste compared to those in store. Smooth, not chunky. Only bad thing, some cases were "chocolate", not "chocolate milk" and they did not have the same label as in the ad. Tasted the same though, and I give this 5 stars because Amazon sent me new cases and let me keep the cases they already sent me, after I complained saying the flavor was incorrect. The product itself was perfect. |
